Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Dublin is a striking example of the Autograph line's pipes, with an extremely tight transition which retains a parabolic shape. Lifting out of this transition is a unique shank that flares out vertically but tapers horizontally, making for a slender, yet expansive base for the stem. Said stem is a lithe arc of cream and coffee-hued acrylic that affords this piece a comfortable smoking posture, its lengthiness balancing some of the bowl's visual weight. Said bowl stands atop a pronounced, drooping heel and grows thick walls up toward a broad, flaring rim covered in dense plateau, its aft wall showcasing a single flat panel. Dressed in a rich, earthy sandblast, the briar here showcases lovely grain, with stacks of growth rings cascading down the bowl.
