Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Bent Dublin Sitter (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-790-31013
The Savinelli family's legacy began when Achille Savinelli opened a humble tobacco and pipe shop in 1876, by 1948, Savinelli was one of the largest pipe manufacturers in the world. Savinelli typically adheres to their traditional shape chart, but Savinelli's Autograph line focuses on freehand shapes crafted from their finest burls of briar and individually hand-carved by a few select artisans. This bent Dublin Sitter possesses a robust, flared bowl that feels hearty in hand. Out back, a lengthy ovoid shank runs to an abbreviated tapered stem that takes a demure downturn, imbuing the profile with a graceful sleekness. Although, much of the shape is classically inclined, it features one major revision: a flared spur below that transition that is reminiscent of the Cutty shape. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a detailed sandblast, highlighting the craggy growth rings in a ruby-tinged stain.--Zach Podl
