Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Bulldog (8) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Bulldog is one of the few examples of the shape we've received from the series, and it features a fluid, gestural curvature through the shank-and-stem combination. Said shank and stem feature the Bulldog's iconic diamond shaping and arc out of a tight transition to offer a comfortable smoking posture. Up front, the bowl stands atop a firm heel and flares out to a ridgeline that marks a subsequent taper to the chamfered rim, the thick walls here surrounding a capacious chamber. Dressed in a warm, rich stain, the stummel showcases a wealth of handsome grain, with flame wrapping around the bowl as birdseye peppers the rim.
