Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin Sitter (8) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Dublin piece is a stable Sitter, and one which hews closely to the Autograph line's style of extra-large briars, coming in at nearly six and a half inches long. A central foot supports the entire composition, and its fairly petite outline is dwarfed by the bowl which rests directly atop it. Said bowl expands dramatically outward toward a firm ridge, additionally marking the start of a domed rim and chamfered slope into the chamber, all of which are situated at a stark forward slant. A rather wide transition out back gives way to a lengthy, tapering shank which is nearly vertical in orientation, and it's met at its peak by a short, demurely curved saddle stem of black acrylic. Dressed in a warm honey-mahogany stain, the stummel here showcases some excellent grain, with fine tendrils of flame throughout the bowl: the quality of the grain on display earning this pipe the "8" grade.
