Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Dublin is an understated pipe in comparison to the Autograph line's usual fare, comprising an extremely subtly curved outline whose sole bit of curvature is focused on the stem's bit. A wide transition here gives way to a straight, ovoid shank that extends to meet a sleekly tapering, demurely curved stem of vibrantly colored orange acrylic. A firm heel supports the bowl, centering the visual weight at the fore while thick walls flare out toward an asymmetric rim that's crowned with dense plateau and overlooks a capacious chamber. Dressed in a crisp, earthy sandblast, the stummel here showcases plenty of handsome grain, while the stem provides plenty of color contrast.
