Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Dublin is a rather reserved take on the classic profile, with a subtly curved shank and stem combination poised for comfortable smoking. A wide transition gives way to the shank's lifting, round length of briar, and it's met by a tapering stem of demurely downturned black acrylic: this pair offering an appreciable bit of thickness. Up front, the bowl stands on a rounded, slightly pronounced heel and grows thick walls that flare out to a broad, chamfered rim, the subdued build of this piece contributing to an impressively light weight. Dressed in a warm, rich stain, the stummel showcases handsome grain throughout, with flickering flame around the bowl.
