Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Paneled Volcano (8) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This paneled Volcano is an expressive take on the modern classic shape, with a broad, robust bowl that immediately draws the eye to the fore. This bowl boasts a semi-ovoid shape that's rounded at the aft and carved in a plow-like arrangement of three panels at the fore, strikingly outlining the walls' sleek taper to the rim. A wide transition out back gives way to a thick, subtly tapering shank that lifts to meet a more swiftly tapering stem of swirling black and yellow acrylic. Dressed in a warm, rich stain, the stummel here showcases handsome grain throughout, with flickering flame wrapping around the bowl.
