Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Bent Apple (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This is a striking take on the classic bent Apple shape, with a wide transition out back that gives way to a thick, square-shaped shank whose short length is met by a sleek, tapering stem of black acrylic. The impressively geometrical outline of this combination nicely balances the bowl, and it affords this pipe a delightfully firm feel in hand. The lower side of the shank descends past the transition slightly, creating a spur and centering this pipe's visual weight. Thick, supple walls define the bowl as they rise to a mid-set waist and domed rim, providing plenty of space to showcase the stummel's crisp, auburn-tinged sandblast.
