Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Freestyle Panel Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. The Freestyle subseries defines pipes that push the envelope of pipe design, with particularly striking and unique profiles that are far removed from more traditional shapes. This Paneled bent Dublin is one such pipe, presenting with a striking build that's yet rather subtle in its stylization of the timeless shape. The bowl is the center of this pipe's visual weight, sitting on a flattened heel with plenty of thickness and ample height, growing its walls with a gentle flare to the rim. This rim is split down the middle by a ridge that defines a raised area on the left side, lending the rim a stepped, geometrical look. A wide transition out back gives way to a long shank that tapers slightly as it lifts to meet a short saddle stem of demurely curved black acrylic, poising this pipe for comfortable smoking and lending the composition an agile look. Dressed in a warm, rich, smooth finish, the stummel showcases handsome grain, with flame surrounding the bowl, while a patch of briar at the heel is sandblasted for added texture.
