Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Paneled Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This paneled bent Dublin is a unique take on the shape, complete with a Blowfish-like look that compresses the briar at the flanks of the bowl and forms it into squared-off panels, especially near its upper portion. At both the fore and aft of the bowl, these panels are framed with a pair of ridges, with the pair at the fore curling around to the heel and creating a stylistic spur. The transition is wide, with plenty of room to drape a digit, and it gives way to a lifting shank here paired to a sleek and demurely curved stem of tapering black acrylic. Dressed in a crisp and earthy sandblast, the stummel displays handsome grain throughout, with rippling growth rings flowing down the walls of the bowl.
