Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Bent Egg (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This bent Egg is a striking take on the shape from the Autograph series, displaying a look that's immediately reminiscent of the Cauldron. The bowl is the center of this reminiscence and also of the composition's visual weight, standing on a pronounced, belly-like heel and growing walls that cinch at the middle before making a more gradual taper to the rim. Said rim is crowned with a wreath of plateau and overlooks a capacious chamber, offering plenty of space for leisurely smoking sessions. The transition is wide, and it gives way to a short, flared shank met by a crackling, sunny-toned stem of tapering acrylic, poising this piece for more comfortable smoking. Dressed in an earthy sandblast, the stummel showcases rippling bands of growth rings flowing down the walls, with ample contrast on offer thanks to the stem's vibrant hues.
