Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Brandy (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. A plump, Egg-like take on the bent Brandy, this piece from the Autograph line features a pinched transition that gives way to a cylindrical, extended shank. Said shank is capped by a short saddle stem of demurely downturned acrylic in sunny tones, poising this piece for more comfortable smoking. Up front, the bowl stands on a pronounced, rounded heel and grows thick, supple walls that take on an arcing taper to the undulating and chamfered rim. Dressed in a warm, light, honeyed stain and slightly glossy smooth finish, there's plenty of handsome grain to appreciate throughout this piece, with flame surrounding the bowl and plenty of birdseye on the underside.
