As the Irish have St. Patrick's, Italians have Columbus Day, celebrated both back in the Old World, and those here in the New — in the latter case observed not just by those of Italian or Irish descent, but anyone who enjoys a good excuse for a parade or some good drink and food. (Naturally, St. Patrick's tends to emphasize the drink, Columbus Day the food, as is appropriate to the respective cultures.)
Speaking of excuses, now we have one to add a good pipe to Columbus Day as well, thanks to Savinelli. Here's one now: the ever-popular, big-bowled, Italian-neoclassical "315 KS" Prince, bearing the stimulating, dark, rusticated finish, and bright, cool white, nickel, and blue accents of the Santa Maria line.
