Savinelli: Piazza di Spagna Rusticated (602) (6mm)

Product Number: 002-033-38010

Trimmer and more lithe than is usual in typically robust Italian pipe design, Savinelli's "602" is a bent Billiard with more of a Danish flair, especially noticeable in the sweeping curves of the silhouette and slight taper of the bowl toward the rim. The proportions between bowl and shank, though, return us to bowl-centric Italian territory, contributing to a bold, sporty, and active character, as appropriate in a sports car as in an armchair.

Savinelli's Piazza di Spagna series pays homage to the marque's rich, Italian heritage. It's named after one of the most famous meeting places in Rome — a city square found at the bottom of the monumental, 18th-century Spanish Steps, which are a landmark in their own right. Much like Savinelli's Roma, Roma Lucite, and Trevi lines, the Piazza di Spagna is an aesthetically pleasing series and a fitting tribute to Italy from one of the country's most historic and esteemed pipe manufacturers. This particular piece is finished in a striated rustication, dressed in a dark, earthy walnut stain, and tastefully accented by brass and nickel bands at the stem base.
