Savinelli: Pigna (141 KS) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-033-39699
Savinelli's "141 KS" is a robust, thoroughly Italian take on the timeless Billiard that houses an appropriately deep chamber within its incredibly hearty, towering bowl. The stout, round shank matches the bowl's muscularity and further complements the shape's sturdy, resolute disposition before the gradually tapering mouthpiece wraps everything up with its clean, angled lines. The "141 KS' is easily one of the best examples of the marque's neoclassic approach to traditional English shapes — taking classic designs and emphasizing the bowl's prominence, resulting in a substantial pipe that fills the hand effortlessly.
Meaning "pine cone" in Italian, Savinelli's Pigna series features stummels that are left unstained, dressing them in a bumpy, rugged rustication that readily evokes the look and feel of its namesake. It's then topped off by a vibrant acrylic stem, the rich emerald hues seeming like marbleized pine needles to provide striking contrast against the stummel's natural color palette and furthering the line's motif. Virgin finishes enable the briar to patinate as it's smoked, deepening in hue from light auburn to warm chestnut and visually representing the years spent enjoying it. The Pigna joins Savinelli's other natural-finished series, Cocco and Spinosa, and continues the Italian marque's penchant for drawing inspiration from the natural world.
