Savinelli: Pianoforte Smooth (703 KS) (6mm)

Product Number: 002-033-45375

The "701" and "703 KS" shapes are Savinelli's interpretations of the classic Lovat, displaying the same general combination of Billiard bowl, elongated shank, and abbreviated saddle stem, but they vary in their proportions, catering to different pipesmokers' preferences. Seen here is the "703 KS," which increases the overall size of the "701" and adds more muscularity to the stretched shank. With more chamber depth and added overall length, it's an ideal choice for those interested in a larger Lovat, the design doing well to exemplify Savinelli's signature style — maintaining a traditional English aesthetic but dramatizing the proportions.

Most known by its shortened name, "piano," the pianoforte dates back to circa 1700 when Bartolomeo Cristofori invented the instrument in Italy. Since then, some of the most influential masterpieces have been composed on its keys and performed by the greatest musicians in history. Commemorating this history and the instrument's Italian roots, Savinelli presents the Pianoforte series. The line is distinguished by an acrylic accent of broad white bands separated by a trimmer one of black — evoking the piano's ebony-and-ivory color palette. This particular piece wears a handsome, smooth stain, adding an auburn hue to complement the black and white motif.
