Savinelli: Raffaello Sandblasted (6mm) (117/500) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-033-50999

Raffaello Sanzio, known today as Raphael, was a 16th century Italian painter and architect, considered by many to be a symbol of the Renaissance. Together with contemporaries Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael forms what many recognize as the "trinity" of great Renaissance masters. When he was just 37 years old, though, Raffaello died in Rome on April 6th, 1520; however, his legacy lives on through his artwork, which is still exhibited across the world — most notably his magnum opus, The School of Athens fresco found in the Vatican.

To honor Raphael's artistic genius, Savinelli has created a special edition line dedicated to the 500th anniversary of his death, limited to 500 serialized pieces. A single-shape series, Savinelli's Raffaello presents an elegantly bent Rhodesian marked by a pronounced ridgeline around its waist, a tapered rim, curvaceous heel, and flowing S-curve. It features a crisp, low-profile sandblast against a warm, walnut stain, embellished with a depiction of the artist's own self-portrait in sterling silver along the shank. Each Raffaello pipe comes nestled in its own personalized box, complete with a leaflet detailing the anniversary and Raphael's enduring legacy.
