Savinelli: Liquirizia (626) (6mm)

Product Number: 002-033-51949

While Savinelli features several bent Apples on their standard shape chart, this "626" is their signature, archetypal rendition. It's also the trimmest version offered by the Italian marque, presenting a leaner disposition compared to, say, the "636 KS" and "642" shapes and leaning more into the traditional English style. Defined by a slightly bulging bowl, stretched heel and transition, and lithely bent stem, this iconic "626" is a versatile piece of moderate size and natural in-hand feel — perfect for those interested in an Italian-made pipe but one of more restrained, classic proportions.

Meaning "licorice" in Italian, Savinelli's Liquirizia series continues the firm's thematic line of pipes inspired by cuisine and the culinary arts. Much like the marque's Miele and Vaniglia series that coat the chamber with the sweet flavor of their namesake, the Liquirizia utilizes a licorice flavored bowl to provide a sweet-smoking break-in period. Aesthetically, the series is quite appetizing as well, finishing each pipe in a smooth, walnut stain with acrylic stems of swirled tan and chocolate tones paired to a creamy white accent. Completing the theme, each pipe also comes complete with a small bag of Italian licorice candy and a tamper that's an actual licorice root.
