Savinelli: Trevi Rusticated (607 KS) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-033-62182
Savinelli's "607 KS" is among the Italian marque's largest bent Billiard designs, rivaled only by the substantial proportions of the "616 KS." That said, it's still a considerably robust rendition of the timeless form, closely resembling the dimensions of Savinelli's "606 KS" shape, but here it trades a tapered stem for a saddle mouthpiece which further emphasizes its muscularity. The tobacco chamber is remarkably deep, and the downturned stem promises a comfortable hands-free smoking posture for those desiring a reliable jaw hanger.
While Savinelli's Roma and Roma Lucite lines pay homage to the city of Rome as a whole, the Italian marque's Trevi series commemorates a specific landmark within the capital: the Trevi Fountain. Designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762, the Trevi represents the largest Baroque fountain in Rome and is one of the most famous in the world, marking the junction of three roads — tre vie in Italian, thus leading to its name. For Savinelli's celebratory series, the Italian marque presents here a dark-stained, glossy rustication, accented with a flashy nickel ring emblazoned with the characteristic arches of the Acqua Vergine, an ancient Roman aqueduct for which the Trevi Fountain acted as a terminus.
