Savinelli: Roma (706) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-033-65580
Like the Bing's Billiard in their Favorites line, Savinelli's "706" is a trim design with an elongated stem for added sleekness. Whereas the Bing's Favorite features a slightly bent stem and stretched shank, this "706" maintains classic proportions at the stummel and an arrow straight, streamlined disposition all the way through the profile. The slender shaping keeps the piece lightweight, compensating for the added length and presenting a tall, narrow chamber. It's one of Savinelli's sveltest forms and fits in well to the classic end of the Italian marque's shaping style.
It's only fitting that one of Italy's most historic and esteemed pipe manufacturers would devote a line to one of the country's most celebrated cities: Rome. From Antiquity and empire to Renaissance and cultural center, the Italian capital tells the story of millennia through its architecture, statues, piazzas, and fountains. Savinelli's Roma series pays tribute to this history, presenting a dark rustication, accented with a trim, brass ring at the base of the vulcanite stem. The lighter-stained, smooth-polished rim echoes that elegant contrast, and the mouthpiece trades the Italian marque's usual coat of arms logo for one emblazoned with an "R," distinguishing the Rome-inspired line.
