"Mega" is a Latin or Greek root meaning "honking big, no joke." I think that's what it means, anyway. If so, it's accurate, as this is a big pipe, with even larger visual aesthetic due to the short shank. It's a handful, but the elegant rustication will keep you from dropping it.
