Savinelli's limited-edition Manzoni series is a special line commemorating the life and work of Italian poet and writer Alessandro Manzoni, an iconic figure throughout the 19th century. Released in 2023, only 150 total pipes were crafted for this series in honor of 150 years since Manzoni's passing on May 22, 1873. Born in Milan, he's best remembered for his novel I Promessi Sposi ("The Betrothed") and his poem "Il Cinque Maggio" ("The Fifth of May"), and his writings were instrumental in establishing a unified Italian language. Honoring Manzoni, Savinelli has revived their "910 KS" shape: a sleek and angular Dublin, most notably distinguished by its concave shank. It's dressed in a low-profile rustication to maintain the profile's sleek lines, and each piece is generously adorned with a silver depiction of Manzoni along the shank.
