Savinelli: Trevi Rusticated (311 KS) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-033-77254
Savinelli's "311 KS" Poker is a resolute, yet dynamic take on the classic utilitarian shape characterized by the bowl's pronounced forward cant and succinct saddle stem displaying the lightest hint of downward turn. Its sturdy sitting capability makes it the perfect desk pipe while the crisply chamfered rim echoes the firm aesthetic of the defined transition and cylindrical bowl. It's also a slightly more compact offering compared to the Italian marque's other Poker design, the "310 KS," which displays a raised, rounded rim and a slightly longer downturned stem. While the "311 KS" is somewhat downsized, it certainly doesn't sacrifice anything in regards to chamber depth or its charming practicality.
While Savinelli's Roma and Roma Lucite lines pay homage to the city of Rome as a whole, the Italian marque's Trevi series commemorates a specific landmark within the capital: the Trevi Fountain. Designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762, the Trevi represents the largest Baroque fountain in Rome and is one of the most famous in the world, marking the junction of three roads — tre vie in Italian, thus leading to its name. For Savinelli's celebratory series, the Italian marque presents here a dark-stained, glossy rustication, accented with a flashy nickel ring emblazoned with the characteristic arches of the Acqua Vergine, an ancient Roman aqueduct for which the Trevi Fountain acted as a terminus.-Truett Smith
