Savinelli: Onda Smooth (611 KS) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

A bold bent Dublin of hearty proportions, Savinelli's "611 KS" offers a substantial, three-quarter bent stem-and-shank combination for easy clenching and comfortable balance. The bowl flares softly from the firm Italian heel in almost Billiard fashion, but with just enough expansion to know it's a Dublin. With a high-set transition reaching halfway up the bowl, it's a Dublin meant for long, comfortable smokes.

A rather reserved series from Savinelli, the Onda line is presented here in its smooth version — the stummel stained a vibrant, mahogany hue to contrast the jet-black acrylic stem. In Italian onda means "wave," and that motif is manifested in the twin accent rings adorning the shank end: Two brass and nickel accoutrements meet in a wavy, undulating pattern, inspired by the line's sea-worthy namesake to add a dose of flash to the color palette.
