While the dimensions of the "409" and "401" are similar in regards to length, height, and chamber depth, the "409" found here displays more traditional proportions — the stoutness of the shank more balanced and consistent in comparison to the bowl's height, while the shank of the "401" is a touch more slender to emphasize the bowl's height. Introduced in 2023, the Arancia series is one of Savinelli's most vibrant, with an especially impressive stem that matches the line's citrus motif. Meaning "orange" in Italian, arancia is the perfect moniker for this series: The custom-cast acrylic stem displays a vivid arrangement of mottled orange hues contrasted by a green accent band, reminiscent of an orange topped with a leaf. The stummel is dressed in a smooth finish and vibrant stain, complementing the stem's green and orange hues and providing plenty of rich definition to the grain. Adding to this series' impressive list of features, the chamber has been coated with hints of orange essence, similar to the touch of honey added to Savinelli's Miele pipes.
