Savinelli: Ottagono Sandblasted III (383/600) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-033-84342
Savinelli's Ottagono series is a limited-edition release that comprises a single shape across each iteration of the line, drawing from shapes no longer produced by the brand to create striking, geometrical pieces that yet retain a great deal of poised grace. Meaning "octagon" in English, the Ottagono line primarily takes inspiration from the since-discontinued Octavia series, and all the pipes released as part of the series share a set of unique features: a crisp, octagonal paneling across the bowl, a hexagonal paneling at the shank, and a vibrant, amber-hued stem. Such is the case with the Ottagono III, a sinuous bent Billiard that expertly balances its firm, muscular paneling with a deep and alluring curvature: notable for being the first bent shape in the Ottagono line. Based on the "638" shape seen in the Octavia series, the Ottagono III features a parabolic transition that leaves room to drape a digit if needed, giving way to a nearly vertical shank and the smartly curved stem. This posture makes the shape excellent for jaw-hanging, something only aided by the impressively light weight this silhouette embodies. Comfortable and supple, there's plenty to admire about this shape, and it's further elevated by the Ottagono line's iconic stem and crisp, inky sandblast. The Ottagono III numbers 600 pipes total, with each one being individually serialized and stamped with its corresponding number.
