Scottie Piersel: Sandblasted Bing's Billiard with Silver Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-786-0081

Bing Crosby could only wish for such a pipe. It would have been perfect for him, but he missed out. We can still take advantage, though, and Bing can observe with envy if he likes. He would be particularly impressed by this pipe's ruggedness, I think. Reinforced with stainless steel tubing, the shank is impossibly thin looking but as tough as anything out there, and the mouthpiece is attached with a reverse tenon comprised of that same tubing for remarkable strength. For this piece, Scottie Piersel has chosen a long, flat, tapered mouthpiece of variegated black, sage and light brown, trim at the shank but widened at the lip button for comfort. Lightly stained with cross-grain orientation, the blast is low profile but easy to grip, important with such a long, lightweight pipe, and the overall impression is brightened with the broad sterling silver accent. The smooth rim, which reveals excellent horizontal grain, is concave so your tobacco will slide into the chamber rather than out of it. Distinctive, unique, and almost optical illusory, it's a piece for the traditionalist who want to stretch their interests.
