That aesthetic is accentuated by her Relief Contrast technique of finishing, which smooths the peaks of the sandblast and renders them in their light tones, contrasting dramatically with the dark hues of the deeper undulations of grain. Despite the gentle curvature apparent in profile, the bowl is squared with soft corners, and the smooth rim is generously beveled and maintains a light stain that highlights the birdseye that dominates that element.
