While she occasionally fashions classic forms, she's most renowned for her distinctive pencil-shank pipes, drawing dramatic contrast between extra-slender shanks and robust bowls. This Brandy is one such piece, and like all of her pencil-shank pipes, it features a stainless-steel lining around the airway, ensuring worry-free durability despite the shank's narrow diameter and allowing her to extend the overall length considerably. Moreover, this piece also showcases Piersel's signature Relief Contrast finish, involving a combination of sandblasting and sanding to create a two-toned, two-textured motif across the stummel. The broad, thick-walled bowl is topped by a smooth rim to match the Relief Contrast finish's lighter tones, and the elongated shank is paired neatly to an abbreviated stem of hand-cut, caramel-swirled vulcanite.
