Scottie Piersel: Relief Contrast Pot Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-786-0276
American artisan Scottie Piersel combines her extensive background in engineering, sculpture, and architecture to create pipe designs that showcase both precision and artistry. While her portfolio includes a variety of traditional pipe shapes, it is her signature pencil-shanked designs that truly set her apart. Each of her pieces is crafted with a focus on functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Although this Pot forgoes Scottie's iconic pencil shank, it still displays the hallmarks of her unique style, with a bright stem of brindled green and yellow vulcanite adding a pop of color to the composition. Up front, the bowl is classically squat, formed by walls that rise from a round heel to a chamfered rim. A ninety-degree transition gives way to a rounded shank that extends toward the aforementioned, tapering stem. Dressed in Scottie's signature Relief Contrast finish, the stummel bears a sandblasted texture that's been smoothed down in areas to provide both visual and tactile interest.
