Ser Jacopo: Picta Van Gogh Walnut Calabash with Silver (L1) (03)
Product Number: 002-171-1884
Taken from a simple 1885 sketch of a greybeard portrayed in profile with his Bent Dublin protruding from his lips, this Picta van Gogh follows closely to the depicted design, right down to the rolled edges of the rim. This isn't always an easy task, particularly given the artistic styles of some of the famous painters Giancarlo Guidi chose for the inspiration of his Picta series pipes - details often being obscure, or shapes rendered in a gestural or expressionistic manner. By Ser Jacopo standards, this is a rather modestly-sized design, though in this case that didn't stop them from packing in a ton of lush flame grain, and a pretty sound helping of birdseye too.
