Picta Magritte Sandblasted Bent Billiard (S2) (10) Tobacco Pipe

While most Picta series shapes are modeled off of more obscure paintings and sketches, the Picta Magritte "10" is lifted straight from one of the Belgian master of surrealism's most iconic works, "The Treachery of Images". "Seeing is believing," we're always told, until comes along a man like Magritte to show us the image of a pipe and inform us, "This is not a pipe." He was right, of course: It isn't a pipe. It's the image of a pipe the artist created, showing us what he wanted us to see. For all we know, his canvas was set up in front of a bowl of peaches, or a dead fish, or a blank wall. The pipe may have been completely different, or never existed at all - at least until Giancarlo chose to shape one from the image.
