There are quite a few briars out there going under the name of "Cobra", shape-wise, but I think this Ser Jacopo Horn has them beat. While the usual Cobra shape displays its cobra-ness largely by a wide, flat transition into an Egg-type bowl: emulating the cobra's hood. This Pesaro piece captures, from end to end, the actual gesture of one rearing up and on alert, and does so across quite a considerable length. While certainly quirky and evocative art-wise, this double-Maxima does also sport a distinct practical feature made possible only by the novel arrangement: a chamber of truly exceptional depth.
