Ser Jacopo: Spongia Sandblasted Bent Dublin (S3)
Product Number: 002-171-2771
What immediately caught my attention, both visually and texturally, about this Ser Jacopo bent Dublin is the sandblast it wears. It's one of the craggiest blasts I've ever seen come across from the Italian workshop and has unveiled a fascinating display of rippling grain, providing ample texture to keep the fingers intrigued. Shape-wise, it's a sinuous and somewhat whimsical take on the shape chart standard that's relatively restrained compared to past Ser Jacopo interpretations that favor bowl-centric proportions. The rim is slightly concave in its orientation, while the transition is deep and well-defined, offering plenty of room for the thumb to rest. And thanks to the sweeping, gestural nature of the shank and stem as well as the piece's remarkably light weight, this one should hang from the jaw effortlessly.- Jeffery Sitts
