Ser Jacopo: "La Pipaccia" Sandblasted Bent Dublin (16) (S2)
Product Number: 002-171-2787
The late Giancarlo Guidi, founder of Ser Jacopo, lived in the Adriatic port of Pesaro, Italy, and had a long-standing fascination with the pipes that he saw smoked by sailors and fishermen from far away lands. A common feature among those pieces is the suggestion that they may have been pipes of composite construction. In 1996, he began the La Pipaccia series as a type of homage to those novel pipes. This particular "16" example wears a lovely, detailed sandblast across the surface of its trumpeting Dublin bowl. The earthy brown stain does an excellent job of highlighting the blast, contrasting wonderfully with the silver accents and the smooth briar along the rim and shank extension.- Jeffery Sitts
