Ser Jacopo: Picta Van Gogh Rusticated Bent Billiard with Silver (01) (R1) (C)
Product Number: 002-171-2804
This Picta series bent Billiard is based upon the briar van Gogh himself is seen smoking in his Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear. Yes, this was after his infamous gifting of one of his ear lobes, tucked into an envelope, to a lady of the evening. (This is why Vincent couldn't have nice things). In Pesaro style, it features a very bold, heavy heel and lower bowl, but otherwise hews very closely to the depicted briar, with its casual, drooping bend, sturdy shank, cinched waistline, and artful proportions. And in this particular case, the hourglass form of the bowl is complemented by the rugged rustication with lighter speckles rising through the texture of the duo-tone presentation.- Chuck Stanion
