Ser Jacopo: Spongia Sandblasted Calabash with Silver (S3) (C)
Product Number: 002-171-2823
Compact Calabashes aren't exactly common occurrences in pipemaking, especially when crafted by Ser Jacopo, a workshop known for their massive Maxima designs and flourishing Freehands. While certainly on the smaller side for Ser Jacopo, the chamber is surprisingly deep and the rim maintains the Calabash's distinctive mushroom-shape, which hangs over the bowl like an open umbrella. The curling transition sits slightly tucked away underneath the protruding rim, leading to the robust shank and softly bent stem, its firm ridgelines matching well with the rim's defining ridgeline. The stummel's tanblasted finish has unveiled an impressive display of growth rings around the poised bowl with sterling silver accents along the shank end and stem base adding a dose of refinement to the composition.- Jeffery Sitts
