Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Smooth Bent Billiard with Silver (L1) (C) (05) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-2832
Ser Jacopo's Picta collection consists pipes in the style of those featured in classic paintings — and in this particular case, the work of Pablo Picasso. This "05" bent Billiard from the Picta Picasso series is based on the pipe that can be seen in a 1902 painting inspired by the painter's third trip to Paris. In silhouette, this offering is quite a faithful interpretation of the one depicted in Picasso's painting, but it's not until it's seen in person that this pipe can truly be appreciated. The bowl curls forward from out of the tightly knit transition and displays some noticeable cheeking, a shaping cue that nods more toward the Danish approach than the Italian. Regardless, it suits this piece wonderfully and with over two inches of chamber depth housed within you'll have plenty of time to fawn over it during those lengthy smoking sessions. A sterling silver band adorns the shank, standing out just enough against the jet-black stem and the stummel's mahogany stain.
