Ser Jacopo: Picta Miro Smooth Bent Dublin with Silver (L2) (C) (10)

Product Number: 002-171-2834

This sweeping Ser Jacopo bent Dublin is based on the curling, Horn-like pipe seen in Catalan Peasant with a Guitar from Spanish painter Joan Miró. Although the proportions of this Ser Jacopo rendition are obviously of a more sinuous nature, the gesture, from the slender bit to its high-rimmed bowl, does catch the lively, leaping character of Miró's own flame-jetting depiction of a briar. A high-set beadline is visible just underneath the softly inflated rim and the vibrant, honey-blonde stain is complemented by a trim sterling silver band along the shank. Like the painting itself, this design seems to present a moment of celebration, captured in time.
