Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Silver (S2) (C) (10)
Product Number: 002-171-2932
This "10" from Ser Jacopo's Picta Picasso line is inspired by Picasso's 1904 sketch, imaginatively titled Autoritratto dedicato a Max Jacob (Self-Portrait Dedicated to Max Jacob). The pipe itself is a subtle variation on the bent Dublin and features a fine ring grain pattern unearthed by its crisp sandblast and complemented by a bright sterling silver accent band. Given that the inspirational source for the pipe was created fairly early in Picasso's career, the Italian workshop had to do a great deal less improvisation/taming of shape than the pipes that were inspired by the artist's later, more abstract work.- Andrew Wike
