Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Sandblasted Billiard with Silver (S2) (C) (12)

Product Number: 002-171-2933

Ser Jacopo's late founder, Giancarlo Guidi, was an avid art collector and enthusiast. So much of an enthusiast, in fact, that he created the Picta line — a series inspired by pipes featured in the works of major artists like Vincent van Gogh, Joan Miró, René Magritte, and in this particular case, the work of Pablo Picasso. This "12" Billiard from the Picta Picasso series is based on the pipe which appears in the left hand of the namesake figure in Picasso's 1905 painting Garçon à la pipe (Boy with a Pipe). It's one of the most traditional designs within the Picta series, though the Italian workshop has taken creative liberties in terms of the finish and accent work. The majority of the bowl is finished in a light-depth, earthy-toned sandblast while the rim and nomenclature panel are left smooth for a hint of textural contrast. A trim, filigree band of sterling silver adorns the shank end before introducing the acrylic stem which gradually tapers toward the lip button.
