The bowl of this firm-sitting Poker from Ser Jacopo is particularly prominent in relation to the slender shank-and-stem combination, which emerges from a soft transition into a long, tapering form. Rusticated in a satisfying texture, it offers attractive contrast between that rustication and the two smooth bands of briar around the outside of its Calabash-style rim and around the tobacco chamber. The lighter tone of the smooth briar is echoed at the end of the shank, which is followed by the jet-black acrylic mouthpiece, each element contributing to this comfortable pipe's soft, earthen hues.
