Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Spongia Sandblasted Acorn with Silver (S3) (C) (25) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3047
The light hues of this Ser Jacopo tanblasted Acorn highlights nice cross grain and whorls of birdseye along the flanks. While I more often think of an Acorn as being a bent shape, the Italian workshop has mounted this rendition to an arrow-straight shank-and-stem combination. While the marque is known for pipes of quite large dimensions, this pipe is closer to classic size standards, comparable to a Dunhill Group 4. The lithe shank is adorned by a trim, intricately detailed sterling silver band, a feature which divides neatly the light tones of the stummel and the jet-black, tapered stem. Belonging to Ser Jacopo's Picta Picasso series, this design is based off the pipe seen in the Spanish painter's 1968 work titled Sitting man with pipe.
