Ser Jacopo: Historica 2021 Picta Van Gogh Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Silver (S2) (1) (20) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3085
Ser Jacopo has been on the cutting edge of Pesaro pipe making for nearly 40 years, having been founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi. The Italian workshop's Historica series celebrates that success by selecting some of the older, distinctive shapes and re-envisioning them, often combining the designs with intricate silverwork, as seen in this Picta Van Gogh bent Billiard. The Picta series depicts the works of famous artists, highlighting pipes similar to those seen in paintings. This hearty, tall rendition is inspired by Van Gogh's 1889 painting Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe. Displaying a rounded heel, cinched waistline, and an inflated rim, the stout bowl houses plenty of chamber depth and is dressed in a ruby-tinged sandblast, showing off stunning grain patterns. The smoothly polished nomenclature panel of lightly stained briar adds a pleasing contrast, with a bright, stylish silver band lends added sophistication. Topped by an acrylic stem of ebony and ivory hues, this limited edition piece features a cornucopia of handsome conventions.
