Ser Jacopo: **Picta Miro Rusticated Billiard with Silver (R1) (C) (03) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3143
Ser Jacopo's Picta series depicts pipes that are similar or are inspired by those seen in famous paintings. The idea for the popular line came from workshop founder and art aficionado Giancarlo Guidi, with this Billiard based on Spanish artist Joan Miró's 1920 Horse, pipe, and red flower. The pipe in the painting appears to be a lengthy, slender clay rendition and this briar Billiard mirrors that profile. The poised Billiard bowl is Egg-like with a softly rounded disposition, a single wrapping beadline encircling the bowl just beneath the rim for added whimsy. It's paired to a lithe, lengthy shank-and-stem arrangement that gradually turns downward from a mid-set transition, allowing this piece to sit by resting back on the mouthpiece. It's dressed in a warm, rugged rustication with a trim silver accent ring at the stem base lending a dash of playful flash.
