Ser Jacopo: Rusticated Bulldog (R1) (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3220

I can't say that I've ever seen a Bulldog rendition quite like this one from Ser Jacopo, at least with regards to the bowl, eschewing the traditionally inclined squat, tapering profile in favor of a tall, bulging, Brandy-esque shape. The smooth rim is demarcated by a single beadline, separating it from the bowl at large who's swell is more potent in the fore than the aft, standing proudly on the pronounced Bulldog heel, giving it a towering presence. The transition is slightly cheeked, diamond-ridged shank meeting it with a softness that immediately dissipates the rigidity of the lines which run to the stem's bit. The shank and stem flare gradually into the transition as well, back half of the pipe providing a structural contrast where its firmness offsets the gentle curvaceousness of the bowl, slowly growing into it before sharply turning upward. The stummel is dressed in a warm mahogany rustication, matching the wooden ornamentation on the stem handsomely.
