Ser Jacopo: Niger Smooth Churchwarden with Silver (L) (B)

Product Number: 002-171-3274

A lengthy Churchwarden from Ser Jacopo, this is the first pipe of its shape we have even in the Niger series from the Italian Workshop. The stem is languidly bent, a long, slowly tapering affair that meets the shank with a trim silver band, shank flaring slowly to the transition. The bowl, too, flares, rising on the heel with a gentle expansion toward the rim. The profile of this pipe is an alluring recurve, making its second arch quickly, the heel comparatively swift in its turn, suffusing the pipe with a fluid, flowing momentum. The Niger finish dresses the stummel with a dark, smooth stain which handsomely compliments the black stem and reveals a mesmerizing ocean of birdseye across the right flank, swirling vortices framed with the venous outlines of the briar's grain.
