While the Pesaro school of pipe making is often associated with playful, gestural forms, the style can also take a more classical turn. This straight Dublin is a gorgeous example of that more traditional style, the gradually flaring shank and architectural lines of the bowl working in tandem with the bowl's dramatic flare to draw the eye directly to the twin beadlines near its top. It's also quite beautifully grained as well, with fine licks of flame extending throughout the shank and swirling about the left flank of the bowl, while birdseye peppers the right flank and the rim. Truly a lovely fusion of classical and Neoclassical styles, this straight Dublin exudes a timeless, elegant appeal.
