Ser Jacopo: Historica 2021 Picta Van Gogh Spongia Rusticated Bent Billiard with Silver (R2) (1) (725 Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3377

Boasting a rich history of nearly four decades since its inception by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo enjoys a well-deserved reputation of being on the cutting edge of the Pesaro school of pipe making. Thus, the Italian workshop has some novel shapes in their portfolio. The Historica line was initiated as a means of revisiting some of those shapes and contemporizing them, often with unique silverwork, as seen in this Picta bent Billiard. The marque's Picta line depicts the works of famous artists, highlighting pipes similar to those seen in their paintings. This tall, hearty rendition, based upon Van Gogh's 1889 work Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe, presents a bold heel and cinched waistline, along with plenty of chamber depth. Accented with a handsome, ornate band of silver, this whimsical pipe features a complex, black and white stem, the elongated white acrylic displaying fine striations throughout for an elegant aesthetic. The stummel, then, wears the natural stain of the Spongia rustication, lending even more textural and visual appeal.
