Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Bent Dublin (S1) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3397

I can't say I've really ever come across a bent Dublin that looks the way this example from Ser Jacopo does, though with their history as the pioneers of the Pesaro school of pipe design, this is no surprise. What immediately strikes me about this shape is the heel, as it is quite pronounced, dipping below the transition as far as the rim rises and bulging out with a striking curvature before sweeping up at the fore. Outside of this feature, the bowl's flare to the rim is fairly standard, and the trim shank's pairing to a gently downturned stem gives it a touch of understated elegance. This piece is an excellent example of the way a single feature can influence the overall look of a pipe, as well as a demonstration of Ser Jacopo's unique style. An inky sandblast dresses the stummel, with the rim and nomenclature panel on the shank being left smooth for contrast, fostering a good deal of tactile intrigue, and a subdued, traditional palette.
